Bio

Henning Haupt erstellt Installationen aus Farbe im Raum. Z.B. im Juni 2025 in der Lukaskirche, Dresden oder 2021 als „The Arrival of Magenta“ an der Robotron Kantine eingeladen vom Kunsthaus der Stadt Dresden. Seine Malerei wurde, neben anderen Orten, in Einzelausstellungen im Wenzel-Hablik-Museum, Itzehoe, 2016 und dem Coral Springs Museum of Art, Florida, USA, 2014 gezeigt. Haupt war Fellow des Artist-in-Residence-Program am Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado, USA, 2016 und der Brush Creek Foundation of Art in Wyoming, 2014. Seine Arbeit wurde 2013 mit dem South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship ausgezeichnet, und im Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, Florida ausgestellt.

Seit 2020 leitet Haupt die Professur für Gestaltungslehre an der Fakultät Architektur der TU Dresden. Zuvor war er Associate Professor an der Florida Atlantic University und Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Technischen Universität Braunschweig. Dort promovierte er mit der Dissertation „Experimente in Farbe“ zu Farbe und Raum in Malerei und Architektur.

Henning Haupt presented spatial installations of “color e.g. in 2025 at the Lukaskirche or 2021 „The Arrival of Magenta“ at the Robotron Kantine in Dresden. Before that he exhibited paintings and installations, among various venues and galleries in solo shows at the Design Building Gallery UM Amherst, 2023, Main Window Dumbo and Equity Gallery, NYC 2018, the Wenzel Hablik Museum, Germany, 2016 and Coral Springs Museum of Art, USA, 2014. Haupt was Dresden Fellow at the TU Dresden, 2019 and a fellow of the Artist-in-Residence-Program at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Colorado, 2016. In 2013, he was awarded with the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship, exhibited in the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale.

Currently Haupt is head of the Chair for Foundations of Art and Architecture at the Institute of Buildings and Design, Faculty of Architecture, TU Dresden. Before that he taught at Florida Atlantic University and at the Technical University Braunschweig, Germany where he completed his PhD with a Dissertation on color and space in painting and architecture.
